Slightly to the Right in New Jersey

Conservative comments on New Jersey

These people must think we are idiots!

I sent an  email to this idiot Menendez telling him that I  did not support the DREAM ACT.  This is what the idiot sent back:

Dear Mr. Zuendt:

Thank you for contacting me to express your support for the DREAM Act.  Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this important issue.

You will be pleased to know that I am a strong cosponsor of the DREAM Act and am fighting tirelessly to enact this critical legislation into law.  As the first person in my family to attend college, I can personally attest to the vital importance of a quality education.  The DREAM Act, would give countless innocent children the same opportunity I had – to fully reach their potential and fulfill the American Dream.  In doing so, it will give our country thousands of new doctors, and teachers, and pilots, and servicemen.  It is a win-win situation for both those who would directly benefit from this legislation, as well as our country as a whole.

Those that oppose the DREAM Act believe that children should pay the consequences for their parents’ mistakes.  They believe that children who were brought to this country by their parents without the proper documentation or were kept in this country by their parents without the proper documentation should not be allowed to get an American education.  That is not only wrong – it goes against who we are and what we stand for.

I am disappointed that the Senate failed to pass the DREAM Act this past October.  You may rest assured I will continue to fight until every child in the United States has the opportunity to reach the American Dream.  Anything less is simply un-American.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.  I appreciate your support.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of more assistance.  I invite you to visit my website http://menendez.senate.gov to learn of other important issues to New Jersey.

Now, I ask you, “don’t you think it is about time that we had drug testing for the members of congress?

Hey Bobby, we are coming for you in three years, but until then just remember, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID”!

Illegal Immigrants To Get Government Aid Paying Their Mortgages

Just when it could not get any worse, I just found out that illegal immigrants can get help from THE GREAT OBAMA [HNIC] to pay for their mortgages!

Report: Illegals Can Apply for U.S. Mortgage Relief
2009-02-25 06:43am

As many as 1 million illegal immigrant households in the United States can apply for home mortgage relief under President Obama’s $275 billion relief plan, according to a watchdog group.

“There is no legal prohibition against illegal immigrants owning homes,” Steven Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, D.C., told Internet news Web site WorldNetDaily.com.

“…In most cases mortgage lenders will accept a taxpayer ID or a Matricula Consular card issued by a Mexican Consulate office as identification to illegal immigrants from Mexico,” he said.

Camarota said about 1 million illegal immigrant households acquired U.S. mortgages through the beginning of 2007, before the housing bubble burst.

Chad Buchanan, a manager at SaveMyHomeUSA – a group cooperating with the Obama administration that assists homeowners facing foreclosure – told the Web site that illegal immigrants who own a home “could certainly apply under our program.”

“We don’t target or go after illegal immigrant customers,” he said. “But if an illegal immigrant owns a home legally, we could try to help them under our program.”

Wow, what a deal, illegal immigrants can now live the American Dream.  Unfortunately, real Americans cannot!

Besides the idiots in Trenton, we now have a new bunch in Washington D.C., but to our own home grown one, in November, we are going to take the garbage out.  Until November, just remember, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

The Hudson River Railroad Tunnel

Thursday, it was announced that the federal government had approved giving $3 billion in federal funding to build the new Hudson River Railroad Tunnel.  Here is the link to the full story as reported in the Star Ledger:

http://www.nj.com/starledger/stories/index.ssf?/base/news-12/1231997169199520.xml&coll=1

It took me awhile to think about this, since some of the claims made did not make any sense, in light of the information that I had posted a few days ago.  At that time, the claim was made that 4,000 jobs would be created for the $8.7 billion that would be spent on this Choo-Choo tunnel.  If you did the math, each job would be created for $2,175,000.00 per job, or $310,000.00 per year over the seven year period estimated that the construction would take. Now, the claim is made that this project will create 40,000 to 50,000 jobs!  Well, lets do the math again.  If we can get 50,000 jobs, that would be $174,000.00 per job, or $24,857.00 per year of the project.  Now, that sounds great except for the fact that no construction worker in New Jersey would do the job for about 25 thousand a year.  so it seems that the 40,000 to 50,000 is just not a real figure on job creation.  Also, think about this, 50,000 is about the same amount of people who would fill Giants stadium.  Where are all of these people going to be working around this tunnel?

Another selling point being used to justify this project is the premise that 22,000 cars will be removed from the road because the drivers (and passengers) will start taking the train to work in New York City and spend their money there.  Well, if we divide 22,000 into $8.7 billion it will cost $395,455.00 per car to remove them from the roads leading to New York City.  That does not seem to be a good investment to me!  If this number is right, lets do another calculation.  If each car has one driver and three passengers, that would be four new passengers for the Choo-Choo Tunnel.  This would be about $100,000.00 per passenger cost.  Now, if the average Choo-Choo train fare was $10.00 round trip, and each person used the train 250 times per year, it would take 40 years to just obtain the fares to pay for the tunnel alone!

Give me a break, this whole Choo-Choo train tunnel idea is just one large pork-barrel project to appease the union construction workers and pay for play construction companies!  Plus, the $8.7 billion is what they want to borrow for these projects.  It does not include the interest that will have to be paid for the bonds that will be needed to actually get their hands on the money needed for this project.  Why not keep the New Jersey money, about $3 billion, and spend it to make New Jersey a more favorable place for companies to locate and create jobs here?

To Governor Stupidhead, our lunatic Senators and all of the other idiots in Washington D.C. and Trenton, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

A Billion

Sometimes after going through all of the spam, an email will really hit you, here is one example:

How many zeros in a billion???

This is too true to be funny…

The next time you hear a politician use the word ‘billion’ in a casual manner, think about whether you want the ‘politicians’ spending YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of it’s releases.

A.

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B.

A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C.

A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

D.
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E.

A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain…
let’s take a look at New Orleans ….

It’s amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D)
is presently asking Congress for 250 BILLION DOLLARS
to rebuild New Orleans .. Interesting number…
what does it mean?

A.
Well… if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans
(every man, woman, and child) you each get $516,528.

B.
Or… if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

C.
Or… if you are a family of four…your family gets $2,066,012.

Imagine, $700 billion bailing out banks in the US.

That’s enough to fund complete medical care for every man, woman and child currently alive in the US for 11 years!!
50 billion to bail out the auto industry???   Washington , D.C. & Ottawa ON.

Stupid is as Stupid says!

Has anyone heard what most of these idiot representatives and senators of ours in New Jersey say when the topic of gas prices and oil drilling comes up?  One of their solutions always is to “control the outrageous speculation that is being done in the oil futures market”!  Guess what stupid, the state appeals court in New Jersey just ruled that the public pension funds of New Jersey can invest in hedge funds!  Guess what hedge funds invest in stupid, that’s right, the oil futures market!  Once again, Stupid is as Stupid says applies to the majority of the elected officials from New Jersey!

To all of the stupid people we elect, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”
