Date Night; White House Style

Last weekend, we all know that THE GREAT OBAMA and the OBAMA MAMA had a “Date Night” in New York City.  They went there in spite of the fact he criticized auto executives for using their private planes to travel to Washington D.C for senate hearings to ask for a government loan.  They went there in spite of the fact that he has said we are in a major “economic crisis” in the country.  They went there in spite of the fact that this country has just added “One Trillion” dollars to the national debt.  Well, here is a little video to commemorate their “Date Night” to New York City:

“The good news is that, according to the Obama administration, the rich will pay for everything. The bad news is that, according to the Obama administration, you’re rich.”  P. J. O’Rourke

A radical idea

For awhile, I have been trying to think of ways that all levels of government in New Jersey could reduce the cost of government.  It has not been easy, but I do believe I have a solution that should greatly reduce costs.  The idea is what I call, “The Duplicity in Government Act”.  The idea is really simple, if a department, division, service or group is duplicated at any level of government, the ones that provide the least coverage are eliminated.  I will be posting some of the different groups that I fell should go over the next few weeks, so here is the first one I think we should deal with.

I live in Bergen County, New Jersey.  Bergen County, along with Union County are the only two counties with there own police departments.  Now, don’t get this confused with Sheriff’s departments, which each county has and are responsible for the county courts and jails.  No, these police departments are in addition to the Sheriff’s department.  I now I do know a fair amount about the Bergen County Police department, so I will give you some facts about them.  I am sure that the Union County department is organized along the same lines.

The Bergen County Police Department Headquarters is located in Hackensack.  It’s defined everyday responsibilities are patrolling Rts. 4 and 17.  They will on occasion set up truck checkpoints and might assist when a utility truck is working in the street, but what I have described is about all they do on a daily basis.  Now to be fair, they do have a K-9 unit and SWAT unit, but that is about it folks.

The reason I started here is because every thing they do is duplicated by another police department.  Let’s take the everyday items, patrolling the two major highways in Bergen County, truck checkpoints and utility truck protection (I will have more on this subject at a later date).  Every town that both Route 4 and Route 17 goes through has a police department.  Each town patrols them and responds to any emergencycalls.  Therefore, they are able to react quicker and with more knowledge due to their proximity to the area.  The Bergen County Police Department might react to an emergency call, but will almost always be the last one at the scene.  As far as truck checkpoints, the New Jersey State Police have mobile units, along with the Department of Motor Vehicle to carry out on the spot checkpoints.  Again, not a real reason to have the county police.  Finally, I really call into question this whole idea of having a police car and officer standing around while a utility crew is working on a pole or digging a hole.  All of these crews have cones, barriers and trucks with emergency lights, why do they also need a $100,000+ county police officer standing around?  I should have also warned you, yes, this police officers average more than $100,000 per year, along with all of the benefits like full medical, retirement after 20 years, etc.

One last thing to consider about the Bergen County Police Department, they have convinced the freeholders that they need a new headquarters.  This headquarters has been budgeted at about $60,000,000  and will located on River Road about a block away from the courthouse.

So what am I trying to prove here?  Well, all of the “responsibilities” that the Bergen County Police Department say they have, are duplicated at other levels.  Street or highway patrol is also done, more effectively by the local town police.  Truck inspection is done by the State Police, why should Bergen County also do it?  SWAT team?  The State Police has multiple SWAT teams around the state that can respond very quickly.  K-9 police?  I don’t know about you, but to save a couple of million dollars, Fido can go.

Governor Stupidhead’s Pit

The executive director of NJ Transit, Richard F. Sarles, wrote a rebuttal in NJ Voices (NJvoices.com) to an opinion about the Mass Transit Tunnel (MTT), which I now refer to as Governor Stupidhead’s Pit.  In the rebuttal, Sarles talks about how the new tunnel will benefit commuters, another way of saying that the real winner here is New York City.  But, one good thing came out of this, and that is his mentioning of 6,000 construction and related jobs, and a drop in air pollution by taking 22,000 cars off the highways.  This confirmation of these numbers can now lead to a crunching of these numbers and figuring out just what this will cost us.

In industry, it is typical to buy capital improvements with an outlook to getting the total return on investment within 18 months.  The price of this tunnel is calculated to be 9 billion dollars.  If we take the elimination of 22,ooo cars as realistic, it will cost $410,000 to remove each car.  Let’s say for this argument we figure each car has four passengers who will now take the train.  So it will cost $102,500 to for each new passenger who will use this tunnel.  If we assume that each passenger will go to work 250 days per year, then in 18 months he/she will have made 375 round trips.  In order to get an 18 month return on investment, each round trip will have to cost $273.00.  I don’t think anyone is going to pay that price.  Now, lets say the cost of a round trip is $27.00 per, it will take 15 years to pay for the tunnel.  Some might say that is a good deal, but just remember, all of the fare would have to go towards paying for the tunnel, what about the cost of the train?  From my viewpoint, this investment is not that good, and will result in the taxpayers of New Jersey having to subsidise this venture.

Sarles also writes about the jobs that will be created in the construction of this tunnel.  Let’s see how much each job will cost.  As I wrote before, they figure that 6,000 jobs will be created.  If we divide 6,000 into 9 billion dollars, the cost for each job will be $1.5 million.  Now, I don’t know where you come from, but where I come from, that is no bargain at all.

Once again, we do not need this tunnel!  It will only benefit New York City.  The cost of the tunnel can never be recouped, but will have to be subsidised by the taxpayers of New Jersey.  And the idea of creating jobs at $1.5 million per job is just plain stupid!  Why not take the money that New Jersey is suppose to contribute ($3 billion) and spend it to benefit the citizens of New Jersey?

To Richard R. Sarles, Governor Stupidhead, and the other idiots who are trying to force this tunnel down are throats, it is just a plain stupid idea, plus don’t ever forget, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

Global Warming, a lawyer’s viewpoint

On Sunday I buy the Bergen Record, possibly the most liberal newspaper in the state.  I buy it for the local sports and schedule of events for the coming week, since Garfield is in Bergen county.  Then, just so I feel I get my monies worth, I read the fiction section, normally called the opinion page.  Well, one article in this section truly caught my attention, since it dealt with the subject of Global Warming.  As anyone who reads this blog knows, I am, along with an ever growing hoard of scientists convinced that this whole subject of Global Warming is nothing more than a bunch of crap.  Well, that hoard of scientists must be pretty large, because it seems that the Bergen Record could not find any true scientists to author an article on Global Warming.  In place of true experts, they have now turned to lawyers for their opinion.  Don’t believe me, well follow this link to the article:

http://www.northjersey.com/opinion/moreviews/37784219.html

When I read this article, the first thing I thought was what moron wrote this tripe.  That is why when I read the credentials of the authors, and I stopped rolling around the floor in a fit of laughter, I started to wonder why these professors of law would be writing this junk.  Well, not being a rocket scientist, it took me awhile, but after 10 seconds, I figured it out, the bastards are pushing this junk science in order to open the door for a whole new class of tort lawsuits, “the Greenhouse Warming Offense”.

Think about it, we could soon be seeing ads on TV asking you:

Sweating more than usual affecting your sex live?

Perspiration staining your best cloths?

People calling you a sweating pig?

Well, call the law offices of Shyster, Shyster, Pettifogger and Dufus and we will sue the crap out of everyone!  Yes, we win the big ones and of course keep our one-third of the award, and expenses and other monies so you will get at least a token and a cup of coffee out of it.

When a society turns science over to lawyers and politicians, and allows them to enact social policy based on fantasy, all of society will suffer.  This is one area of the social arena that we have to take away from these morons.  This state and country will need more and more energy from dependable sources in order to continue to provide all of our citizens a progressive lifestyle that they can afford.

To all of the idiot lawyers in New Jersey, when we take over Trenton in November, tort reform will be one of the areas that will be addressed.  But until then, you along with the other idiots in Trenton just remember, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

Global Warming Again

Over the past few days, I have written some posts that I hope show you that the question of “Global Warming” and “Greenhouse Gases” is far from being answered.  Here is another site that I urge you to check out.  It is a petition drive that has been launched by two professors in Oregon.  Right now they have over 31,000 signatures of which over 9,000have Phd’s!  The statement is pretty simple, the whole idea of Global Warming/Greenhouse Gases is junk science.

http://www.petitionproject.org/

Take a moment, see the petition, see who have signed it, see what branches of the sciences they come from.  Start to really think about this problem, do you want to believe the likes of Al Gore, or real scientists?

No matter what the idiots in Trenton think about Global Warming, just remember we are coming for you in November, but until then, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

A Billion

Sometimes after going through all of the spam, an email will really hit you, here is one example:

How many zeros in a billion???

This is too true to be funny…

The next time you hear a politician use the word ‘billion’ in a casual manner, think about whether you want the ‘politicians’ spending YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of it’s releases.

A.

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B.

A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C.

A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

D.
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E.

A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain…
let’s take a look at New Orleans ….

It’s amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D)
is presently asking Congress for 250 BILLION DOLLARS
to rebuild New Orleans .. Interesting number…
what does it mean?

A.
Well… if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans
(every man, woman, and child) you each get $516,528.

B.
Or… if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

C.
Or… if you are a family of four…your family gets $2,066,012.

Imagine, $700 billion bailing out banks in the US.

That’s enough to fund complete medical care for every man, woman and child currently alive in the US for 11 years!!
50 billion to bail out the auto industry???   Washington , D.C. & Ottawa ON.

HELLO!!! >
Are all our calculators broken??

What happened?
Can you spell ‘politicians! ‘

And I still have to press ‘1’  for English.

I hope this goes around the US & CANADA at least 1 billion times

What the heck happened???
To Governor Stupidhead and all of the other idiots in Trenton, I can give you a billion reasons why you have to go, but come November, the purge will begin, in the meantime, just remember; “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

Numbers just don’t add up!

Last Sunday in the opinion section of the Bergen Record, this article was published describing the “future” of the Meadowlands:

http://www.northjersey.com/opinion/moreviews/A_new_day_in_the_Meadowlands.html

Since this opinion was written by Robert Ceberio, who is the executive director of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, I would expect it to be very bias, but I could not believe how stupid it could be.  One statement in fact really stands out, Robert wrote the following:

“By 2028, the 14-town Meadowlands District will be generating, just from renewable energy sources, 30 or 40 megawatts of power. You’ll drive down the turnpike between exits 15W and 16W, and the solar panels and the wind turbines will have become such a part of life that you won’t even notice them.”

Wow, 30 to 40 megawatts of power, that’s is, wait that is nothing!  Just to give you an idea how that amount of power is so irrelevant, just across the river from the Meadowlands, in Jersey City is the Hudson Generating plant of PSEG.  This plant has two boilers, capable of producing 991 megawatts of power, which use both coal and oil.  This is 25 times the amount that Robert describes producing 20 years from now.  Of course, in 20 years we will have more people living here, unless everyone has moved out because of excessive taxes, who will need more and more electricity in order to maintain their lifestyle.  Now you should also know, even though we have generating plants like Hudson, Bergen, Mercer, etc.  this area still has to import power from outside the area.   This isthe reason that PSEG is going to have to build new transmission lines and why there is an ongoing outcry on where they should be built.

30 or 40 megawatts of power will not even help us to keep up with the increase in power demand in New Jersey.  We will have to build new generating facilities in this area that use conventional fuel sources that produce power when we need it.  If we hope to have a robust and viable economy in the future, New Jersey must not be lead by irrational nutcases, but by enlightened leaders who will have the internal fortitude to see that our basic energy needs are covered for the coming decades.

To Governor Stupidhead and the other nutcases in Trenton, start preparing for the exodus in November, but until then, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

About time to change some minds!

A few days ago I wrote about an Australian professor who believes that Global Warming due to carbon emissions is bogus.  One of the reasons I wrote about this is because Australia is a signer of the Kyoto Protocol.  Being a signer of the protocol, they must monitor their compliance with the protocol, so someone had to develop the accounting model.  Well, that person has now declared that the whole idea that carbon emissions contribute to global warming is garbage.  Further, he says that the warming trend actually ended in 2001 and we have now entered a cooling cycle.  Don’t believe me?  Here is the link to the article:

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24036736-7583,00.html

I hope you will take the time to read what this fellow has written, because you will not see this in the normal media outlets.  Here is one paragraph of this article that really sums up what he is trying to say:

“The world has spent $50 billion on global warming since 1990, and we have not found any actual evidence that carbon emissions cause global warming. Evidence consists of observations made by someone at some time that supports the idea that carbon emissions cause global warming. Computer models and theoretical calculations are not evidence, they are just theory.”

Hey, Governor Stupidhead and you other idiots in Trenton, global warming due to carbon emissions is a myth.  But it is no myth that come November, we are taking out the trash in Trenton.  Until that time though remember, “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

Australia experts rethinking CO2 regulations

I posted about the costs of Governor Stupidhead’s greenhouse gas regulation dream.  Well kids, Australia, which already has CO2 limitations in place is now realizing how stupid it is.  Check this link for ICSC advisor Robert M. Carter, PhD, Professor, Marine Geophysical Laboratory, James Cook University, Townsville, Australia opinion on the subject:

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24820742-7583,00.html

Maybe it is about time we listened to people like this, instead of the idiots that infest Trenton and Washington D.C.

To Governor Stupidhead and all of the idiots in Trenton, the only controllable source of hot air are you idiots!  We are coming to shut you up in November, but until then, IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”

This is going to hurt

I am sure that most of you are aware that Governor Stupidhead unveiled an aggressive plan to reduce “Greenhouse Gas Emissions” in New Jersey.  It is simple, Stupidhead’s administration will tell you what type of cars you will drive, where and when development will occur and how electricity is produced.  In other words, Comrade Stupidhead will be dictating how you live your life!

But, he has not told you how much this will cost you.  Want a ballpark estimate?  A back of the napkin, round figure is a minimum of $8,000 per family of four!  Just remember, you will pay more for yourelectric power, gasoline (if he will let you have it), oil, food (it’s trucked kids), paper, coffee, etc.  Get the idea?  Every damn thing you now purchase will be jacked up in price (along with more sales tax) because of an idiot idea being passed around about carbon emissions!  Global warming is a myth and more and more of the world scientists are proclaiming just that.  But, Comrade Stupidhead does not care about that at all, because the all wise idiot knows best!

Come November, have you bags packed  Comrade Stupidhead because you are going out with the trash, but until then just remember “IT’S TAXES, STUPID!”
